Prevent Florida Optometrists from Performing Surgery! Join the Safe Surgery Florida Campaign Opposing HB 1037 and SB 1168
The Florida Society of Ophthalmology (FSO) is launching its digital campaign opposing the optometric surgery bills—HB 1037 and SB 1168—the OD surgery proposals that place patients and surgical standards at risk.
ASCRS is working in partnership with the AAO and FSO to derail this dangerous anti-patient legislation. Regardless of where you are located, we need your help in spreading the word.
Please help us by doing the following simple tasks:
Please like, follow and support Safe Surgery Florida on Facebook, and @SafeSurgeryFL on Twitter.
- Ask your co-workers, colleagues, former medical school classmates, friends, and family to follow too (including other medical doctors and other specialty societies)!
The more followers we have on these accounts, the stronger this campaign will be and the more impact it will have on lawmakers and the media.
The more you like, comment on, share, and retweet these posts, the more people you can help us reach and engage.
Just as a reminder, ASCRS and the AAO now have THREE active social media state campaigns that need active support and direct engagement. Please make sure to “like” each state Facebook page and follow each of them to grow our universe of supporters on each platform:
Alaska: Protect Alaskans’ Eye Safety on Facebook
North Carolina: Safe Surgery NC on Facebook and @SafeSurgeryNC on Twitter
- Florida: Safe Surgery Florida on Facebook, and @SafeSurgeryFL on Twitter
